March Newsletter

I want to be a living testimony to God’s faithfulness! (Lamentations 3:21-23)  But sometimes that makes life interesting and difficult.

I started the New Year visiting my family  in Florida. What a joy to spend time with them! The kids are getting so big. Aleck & JR are almost as tall as me. I am so blessed to have such wonderful siblings and friends.

February was filled with many different things: Galen left for 3 1/2 weeks in Africa, I had my first Turkish meal at a co-workers house, I was able to be part of Missions Fest Lancaster, we had visitors from MA down for a few days (friends of Rachel’s) and I saw the YWAM students graduate from their Discipleship Training School.

As March came blowing in, Niccole was blowing out of our house. She has taken a job in New Jersey and will be moving. We will miss her terribly! We are waiting to see what God has in store for us and how He provides in this new situation, possibly with a new roommate.

March 27th marks the second anniversary of my dad’s Home-going. Some days it is still very hard! I miss both of my parents so much. I don’t know that I will ever get over losing them, but by God’s grace I will get through each day. I know the truths that God is Sovereign and Good and He never makes mistakes, but at times it is difficult to get these truths that I know in my brain to connect with my heart. I must choose to believe even when I don’t understand or like His ways. I pray that He will use athis to point others to Himself.

As I think ahead to Easter, I am so thankful for God’s power over death and the hope which that brings.

Happy Spring!

 Prayer Requests:

Spring is Coming (by Steven Curtis Chapman)

We planted the seed while the tears of our grief soaked the ground
The sky lost its sun, and the world lost its green to lifeless brown
Now the chilling wind has turned the earth hard as stone
And silently seed rise beneath ice and snow

And my heart's heavy now
But I'm not letting go of this hope I have that tells me

Spring is coming, Spring is coming
And all we've been hoping and longing for soon will appear
Spring is coming, Spring is coming
It won't be long now, it's just about here

Hear the birds start to sing
Feel the life in the breeze
Watch the ice melt away
The kids are coming out to play

Feel the sun on your skin
Growing strong and warm again
Watch the ground: there's something moving
Something is breaking through
New life is breaking through
Spring is coming, Spring is coming
And all we've been hoping and longing for soon will appear
Spring is coming, Spring is coming
And it won't be long now, it's just about here
